As long as I'm alive, I'll create.

Music

Songs, demos, and other things.

bird

My first official release in two years. For this collection of songs I put a lot of focus on songwriting and lyric crafting. I'm usually trapped in my process of impromptu and the occasional written material but I'm trying to expand. This direction is one I'm really happy with and can see more of my records / blips and bloops following suit.

The idea behind the name bird was that all these songs would get stuck in my head while I was making them. My wife and I had just started taking care of a new flock of birds and I would find myself singing to them. Eventually I started calling them my "birdsongs".

Also I got Chickens and really fell in love with birds.

swamp

This is basically a few glitched out diary entries turned into an EP. This was made over the course of 3-4 years and honestly I just didn't know where else to put these particular songs. I'll be doing a few more releases soon in this vein.

Local Dog

Are we a jam band? I don't know. Maybe. Either way I'll never stop playing with these dudes.

More on our site.

Art

It's hard to keep my art organized. I've been creating for years and go through intense periods of output followed by long (usually depressive?) stints of nothing. I try not to force anything anymore. Traditionally, I'd use Instagram as my archive for art (which I will continue to do so) but I wanted to also make sure I was being smart about where I kept things long term.

Below you'll eventually find one off post about things I've worked on as well as loose "series" as I work through that. Some I'll probably talk deeper about.

For now, enjoy my Instagram feed.

Projects

Color to MIDI

Converting colors to MIDI notes and mapping palettes into playable sequences.

Field Notes

Notes from the workshop: small experiments, what we learned, what broke, what got fixed.

Some notes are written only to be found.
